Joe Maloney

President/CEO

Prior to creating Mpirical Development, Joe was Vice President of Retail Development for The DESCO Group. During his 9 years at The DESCO Group, Joe and The DESCO Group developed commercial retail projects in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Oklahoma and seven other states.

Prior to joining The DESCO Group Joe operated The Maloney Company specializing in small scale commercial development and site selection for two national retailers. He started his real estate career at Coldwell Banker Commercial Group in 1982. Joe played Division One basketball at Butler University where he graduated in 1980.

Clark Merritt

Chief Operating Officer

Clark came to Mpirical Development after five years in Business Development and Program Management with Lockheed Martin working on Department of Defense aviation training and simulation development contracts. His role in the capture of new business included customer visits, leading capture teams during proposal efforts, and coordination between the five major Lockheed Martin companies.

A naval officer, he served in various aviation squadrons stationed in California and Florida and deployed onboard aircraft carriers during his twelve years on active duty. Clark is a graduate of the University of Florida and has completed additional graduate work in acquisitions and contract management.

Dave Nielsen

Development Manager/Broker

Dave Nielsen has been a member of the Mpirical Development team since the company established its corporate office in Pensacola, FL. As development manager, he provides oversight in all aspects of development from site selection to acquisition and development to marketing. Dave serves as the primary contact for leasing and sales.

Prior to joining Mpirical Development, Dave was the president and owner of Nielsen Property Company, a brokerage and investment company specializing in leasing, acquisition and disposition of both retail and residential income properties.

Before forming Nielsen Property Company, Dave established himself as a top producer in the marketing and sale of residential income properties. Dave actively managed multiple investment portfolios. Dave graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Florida.

John Perry Harper

Development Manager/Sales Associate

John began working for Mpirical in 2006. He is invloved in the marketing, financial planning, and site selection aspects of the business. John holds a Management degree with certificates in Economics and Finance from Georgia Tech. He is currently working on his Masters of Science in Real Estate at Georgia State University and is a licensed real estate sales associate in the state of Florida. John is married to his beautiful wife Tara and they currently reside in Atlanta.

Giulia Gerencser

Office Manager

Giulia is the newest member in the Mpirical Team. Giulia became part of the company at the end of October 2007. She brings with her an organizational skill that she has learned throughout her work experiences. Though not originally from Florida, Giulia and her family have made Pace their home.
